I am selling my classic (OK, well used) modified PRO Gen 1 steadicam that has been upgraded to AB Batts with the awesome SteadyRig Battery Hanger which allows for movement of the batts to achieve dynamic balancing.  Terry West did the conversion from the old batt cage and put chips in the AB plates to only allow current to flow one way so no back charging of batts. 

The rig shows the wear and tear of 15 years of use (essentially cosmetic) but works amazingly well and has no problems that I know of.  Included but not pictured here are a PRO docking bracket, two PRO plates (one long, one short) and an ARRI power cable and Panavision power cable.  The Preston MDR and XCS Level pictured are not included.

The rig is not wired for HD as I don’t use an HD monitor.  When I have had a few occasions to need one I have simply run a wire in front of the rig from the camera down to a monitor.  You’ll have to check but Terry West said he believed he could rewire it for HD.  I wouldn’t bother but it’s doable.

I know this is an older sled but it’s rock solid and has served me extremely well since before my ER days and up until now.  Everything on my reel has been shot with this rig so don’t let folks fool you into buying brand new gear if you don’t have the coin.  I’m only selling because I sadly need write offs and can either give my money to the government or upgrade.  I will either include the case pictured or a brand new Pelican case which I can fit for you or you can fit yourself, just haven’t decided which way to go on that yet.

Finally, if you are on the East coast and are just starting out I will also include a one day training course assuming we can figure out where and when.  I am in CT and am happy to drive as far as NYC, schedule permitting.
